So finally, one of the most awaited battles in the UAAP took place and after the smoke has cleared only one winner emerged. It was the FEU Tamaraws, not the DLSU Green Archers as I would’ve wanted. Admittedly, I was disappointed at the outcome of the game but I got over it right away. Because, come to think of it, it’s not the end totally. It’s just the first encounter, there’s still at least one more. I think that the game today is just an encounter to let both teams gauge each other. So FEU was successful this time, so what? It doesn’t mean that they were the champions this time. FEU is not UAAP. There’s not one team who can really say if you can or can’t be champions. If you ask me right now who I think will be UAAP champions, I couldn’t give you a sure answer. There are five or six teams that actually have an almost equal chance of making it to the finals. It’s almost the end of the first round of eliminations but it’s still not clear who’s gonna make it to the Final Four. Even the FEU Tamaraws are not that safe even if they still have to experience a loss this season. There are other teams which can also be a threat.
After the loss, I know the GA.net forums will be flooded with posts on the way the Archers performed at the game this afternoon. There will be bashing and blaming for sure. Some might even point out certain plays that didn’t go well. I’m pretty sure that everyone’s gonna play expert and put in their two cents. Well, it’s their right. It just can get too annoying, for me at least, sometimes.
Well, fortunately someone put up a thread that about this. Indeed, if you are a true fan, you wouldn’t put up thread that seemed to blame and bash the team/players. God bless whoever made this thread.
Despite the loss, I still haven’t dwindled in my faith that the green and white team is still the best in the UAAP. I haven’t lost my faith in them. I know they can still make it. It’s just the beginning. It ain’t over.
